it's comin' on Christmas,

singin' songs about reindeer
and joy and peace...

i put up a tiny tiny Christmas tree in the apartment; it's no more than a centerpiece. i trimmed it with 100 lights even though it would really only hold about 50. i strung it with a tiny bit of garland and topped it with a tiny silver angel playing a guitar. viva la Crate & Barrel. the cats have been chased away from the tree more than once and i think they've finally gotten the picture that i don't want them to play with it.

i miss the Wolf. this week begins too cold and too long for what goes on. i doubt i'll want to eat a thing from now until i see him again. i try not to think about any of it, i try to focus on the moment i get to hold him and take him home. i know that this is all necessary and he will triumph over all of it and come home happy, relieved...finished. i know that the 17th begins the rest of his career and is the culmination of years.

only four and a half more days until Christmas break. my hair is getting a sunny coat of red on Tuesday night and i'm rather looking forward to it. i've missed that raucous color so much.
