i think i'm becoming a snob.
now let me back up.
i've always found tremendous humor in other people's limited ability where writing and grammar are concerned. the misapplication of "it's" can send me into peals of laughter or extended lamentations. it's especially funny when the mistake is printed or posted somewhere important, or passed down to me from a "superior."
Drew is planning a trip to NYC and we were looking at restaurants there for him to try. i was checking out the entry about Jean Georges on Citysearch. and, like always, i decided to read the "Negative" comments for a bit of entertainment. the less favorable the comments, the worse the language usage becomes. i was almost through the entry when the plaintiff began whining about how the "prefix lunch" wasn't worth it.
Prefix Lunch? that's Prix Fixe.
that i knew this made me feel abnormal; i found it funny that he was unable to spell it, let alone say it. this is probably a person who cannot pronounce "quiche," either.
"Does a kee-shay come with the Prefix Lunch?"
so yes. meanwhile, there is talk of the Wolf investing in some 2001 Bordeaux. very likely the Mouton. mayyyybe the Lafite. the fact that no one else our age has any interest in those cousins, let alone the means to store their wines for more than a few months is absolute proof of the aforementioned snobbery.

LOL....
The 2000's are the *investment* ;)
And unless I want to play fancy games w/ shipping from out of state I'd pay as much for the 01 Lafite as the '78 Margaux at E.V.... And we could drink that *now* :)

hahahaha...why is it that people that don't understand those kinds of things are the first one to form opinions about them. Then they do stupid shit when they write it and show their true colors...
"Better people to think you are stupid than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."
...words people should live by.
as for NYC...got some places for ya...Rosa Mexicano, best damn $14 guacamole EVAR!!!!!!
City Bakery is awesome for lunch. And, if you can take french everyone says u have to go to Balthazar (sp?) its really really good.
